These cards have been been invaluable to my family. When someone is upset, we pull out the cards and identify all the feelings they are feeling and all the needs they are needing. Then they identify the 2-3 feelings which are strongest and the 2-3 needs which are most important. Time and time again it has helped us identify what we needed to discuss and how to find a solution where everyone can be satisfied. When my daughters were teenagers, I never experienced the drama or conflict that other parents talk about. I am believe that one reason for this is that my daughters had the confidence and tools to ask for what they needed without having to act out.
