   I had the original bought for Christmas, and my in-laws loved it, but forever couldn’t read the cards when placed on the table.
   The cards here are 4 times the size, and very easy to read.
   Good for small kids, and old kids alike.

   This game is great, especially with groups of close friends. The hardest part of the game is not accidentally giving the answer away. Something as subtle as a smirk can easily be mistaken for cheating. Though, if you aren’t playing this game hyper-competitively, you can probably laugh these mistakes out.

   Regarding the size (XXL), I first bought the original version at a retail store without knowing this version existed and we loved it so much that I bought the XXL version after just a handful of games (since our only complaint was fitting 8 people around so many tiny cards). The organizer tray in the XXL version is very nice, while the original doesn’t have one at all, and the cards are a perfect size! My wife and I (mid-20s) played with my grandmother and several of her friends (various post-retirement ages) and it was an absolute blast.

   An amazing addition for the board game pile! The XXL size is perfect for at home and will purchase the normal addition to play when travelling. It is that type of game that is enjoyable still after multiple times and although it is recommended for 4+ players, I think the game works really well with just two.

   Codenames is an excellent board game to start with. I bought this version to be able to play with a bigger group, and it’s perfect for it. I saw that others have complained about the cards being too big (or the text size on them too small), but it worked great for us. The cards are bigger than the normal version, making it easy to spread them out on the floor to play sitting in a circle. The font size is bigger than with normal Codenames cards, but I guess it could’ve been even bigger to cut down on wasted space? (In any case, it didn’t bother me.)

   This game is great! Need to be strategic and is a lot of fun. I like the larger side of the game also as opposed to the smaller version.

   We played this for the first time at an outing with our youth and had a blast. We ended up buying it twice though, the first time we bought it it was the original which has small cards then we played it for Thanksgiving and realized the we needed the bigger cards for all to see them, so we bought the XXL game. It’s a little pricey just for the bigger cards but still a fun game.

    It took me a few games to catch on to it, but now I love it. I’m glad there is a larger print available now. My first set, I took the time to write over the grey printed words with a Sharpie marker. With the newer, larger print, that shouldn’t be an issue.

    Always looking for that game everyone can play and is totally enjoyable yet challenging. This a great game for family or game-night with friends. Love the large size and the concept. The clues change when playing with family, we played with children as young as 9 year old, and we played with visiting adult friends; the clues given become more complicated. Its hilarious and had everyone laughing and requesting the game on later visits. Can’t do better than that.

    This game is AWESOME. I couldn’t recommend it more. I played the game with regular sized cards with friends and decided to buy XXL so it’d be even easier to see the words…but unfortunately the cards are nearly 4 times the size, but the text size is barely bigger. I wish the game maker would have made the font size huge instead of just the card size huge. So much wasted space! We ended up buying the regular one so we didn’t need such a large area to play. I would recommend just buying the regular size!

    Logged many hours playing this. Easy to set up, easy to learn.. fun gameplay… makes you think. The clues come in two parts, a single word and a number. The number is how many cards pertain to the clue. It’s most interesting when the clue giver is trying to match multiple cards to a clue. Even better when some of the “match” cards are a stretch.

    Oh, the XXL version contains bigger cards that are easier to read. (worth it)
