   I remembered this game from a convention I went to. It was really cool! So I bought a set and some extra cards. Everything is in perfect condition, item is physically as described. However, the listing says I can download the required app from the Apple store or Google play. I cannot. Neither of those apps are available for download nor work on modern phones and tablets. Game is a relic (such an old, outdated piece of equipment at what 7 years old?) If you are a game designer looking to see how cool this game is and how it works to help you with your own ideas, this game won’t do it. Unless you venture through Reddits to find old files and backdoor into your phone to add necessary files. Hasbro could have easily supported this game by making the file available still… so you could buy an old phone and use it with the system. They decided to not do this. Sucks. Was a really cool conceptual game that deserves more credit. Anyway it’s one star because while all the equipment is present, there is no support so most people SHOULD NOT BUY THIS GAME. I mean the game won’t run, it HAS to be synced to an application you cannot download. [[without knowing what you’re doing with phone hacking or buying a very old phone then hacking it, of course. That’s still possible so if you aren’t deterred, the game is cool!]] Seems Hasbro as a company puts out stuff it then won’t support. Sucks to have to buy other games from them. Bad company. Save Magic. Save D&D. Thanks for coming to my rant-talk about Hasbro. It just always seems when I try to play a game and then get really frustrated with the management of the entity, it is currently owned by Hasbro.

   Great game and toy. Good fun even with just mixing music via freestyle mode. Fun party game. Good value for the starter set but the add on packs are VERY expensive and can be difficult to find. Promo cards are even harder. Just be prepared to sink in quite a few dollars for extra song cards.

   This game is technically impressive, with software that can sort and mix tunes that makes you feel like a DJ – with no experience required. it’s easy to learn, and portable enough to take to a friends house. Even though this is 5 stars, I do want to spend my most of my review on why this game isn’t perfect. There are two downsides: 1) The condition of the cards – this is something you will notice in several other reviews. They look used and crooked, and the cards I got felt dirty even though they came in factory packaging. I ended up taking a slightly damp cloth and wiping the cards so they felt clean (there was some black dust on the cards) before I put them in card sleeves. I gave this downside a pass, because there are chips inside the cards. I get the impression some of the people that wrote about how the cards not being flat weren’t recognizing that there are chips inside of them, and since these cards functioned perfectly even after I put them in card sleeves, I don’t really take a star away from that because it has no impact on my experience. I can even see the outline of chip if you look at the card from certain angles. The 2nd downside: the limited music library of the cards – no doubt this is primarily because of music licensing rights, but this game is so fun, you will get used to the 60 stock cards fast. Also keep in mind that 60 cards DOES NOT mean 60 different songs. 1 card could be vocals for 1 song and then another card could be the drums for the same song. Keeping in mind the song pool is smaller than your card pool, you will get bored of your cards fast because the game is so fun. Harmonix was on it and releases more cards (sold separately) while the price is a little steep for the separate packs, the game is good enough where I’ll know I’ll get more than my money’s worth in entertainment, so its also not worth losing a star from me.

   There’s no denying the tech behind this game is quite impressive. The gameplay is also really fun. I particularly enjoyed “party mode” with friends, but just making your own mixes in freestyle feels awesome too. With 4 different game modes, there’s a lot of replayability here.

   The game has not been officially released in some parts of the globe (definitely not Japan), in which case you won’t find the required app on your App Store or Google Play Store. HOWEVER, Android users can easily search and download the app elsewhere. Just google “Dropmix apk” and good luck.
