   My son really likes these decks. The elf deck is a bit more powerful but the inventor deck has more strategy involved. Great st for beginners!

   These decks are a bit “meh” but most pre-con decks are that way as they are made to help people learn MTG rather than be competitively used.
   The Elf deck is great but the Inventors deck is a bit weak for a red/blue deck, which should give Elves grief.
   I have yet to play test these but just glancing at the cards it looks like Elves will win every time.
   As the headline states I bought them for the Elves. Many of them are not legal in the format I play (Modern) but several of the ones that are legal in my chosen format have alternate art that I really love (Dwynen’s Elite and Elvish Archdruid especially).

   If you’re building an elf or artifact deck this set has a nice mix of both, and worth it for the price. You can also mix both decks into something interesting.

   This is one of the stronger sets of duel decks you can get. Both elves and inventors are fun to play and were some of the stronger decks in my casual play duel deck collection. I had a lot of fun with the Inventors deck and pulling off the combos, and the tribal elves can hold their own very well.

   I grabbed this to help assist me in crafting an elf-themed Commander deck, and it was utterly fantastic for that alone. The decks are certainly solid, so if you just want them to play with, they’re fine for that as well.

    I purchased two sets of duel decks to learn how to play MTG. Elves/Inventors, Merfolk/Goblins…. I had expected to fall in love with Merfolk, as I’m a part time Mermaid; but surprisingly the Elves stole my heart! They’re good for getting creatures out quickly, and that can kinda make or break a game. Even more fun, is when you’re playing 2×2 (not sure what that’s called, just learned it a couple nights ago), you can use this deck as the main targets so your second half can do all the beating up once the opponents have targeted you. Makes for an interesting night lol. I dont quite understand Inventors yet, but a friend played that deck & won, so obviously that’s user error, not the deck itself lol
