    Dice are definitely made out of metal and the color quality is high. As advertised these are metal, large, and heavy dice and The shine from the numbers makes it very easy to tell what you rolled just from a glance. I absolutely recommend a rolling mat because you will be damaging wood or other softer tables with these dice. This also means that the dice are harder than what you’re rolling them on which leads at least some credence to their long-term durability.

    There are a few issues this product. The tin they are shipped in is not padded well enough, so the dice dented it during shipping. The D8 has a flaw between the 5 and 6 side that is very sharp, making it less comfortable to roll. The dice have sharp corners and enough weight to dent some surfaces, so you have to be careful where you roll the dice. Finally, the biggest issue I have with the dice is that the set came with an extra D12 instead of a percentile die. The dice feel nice to roll, except the D8, but with the other issues I mentioned, I would not recommend buying these dice.

    These dice are heavy. They roll with authority. If I use them in an actual game, I’ll have to use a dice tray to avoid damaging the table. They’re also really pretty, and not hard to read (as so many novelty dice are). They’re packed in a metal tin, as shown in my picture, with soft foam on the bottom and thin, harder foam inside the lid. Note that the dice did dent the lid a little bit in shipping; this is probably unavoidable, to be honest. I’m quite pleased with my purchase here. They won’t be my “everyday” dice but will definitely come out for special occasions.

    I love the heft of these dice, and my friends all admired them immediately upon pulling them out. The only downside is that they can be a bit difficult to read — I frequently have to pick them up after rolling to see what number came up. I suspect it’s a result of the glossiness of the surface — overhead lights make them shine overmuch. “Normal” dice in the same situation are vastly easier to read.
