   These may not be for everyone, but for those of us who enjoy adventure, have a keen sense of active travel, and romanticize life as often as they’re able, this deck of state-specific bucket list adventures is IT. My spouse and I recently moved back to California from the East Coast, and have been entering our third years of our lifelong honeymoon phase. I grabbed these in the hopes that we’d be able to find some hidden gems around California that we’ve yet to find—stones left unturned after so many years, essentially. Here is what I love about these: •The deck is made of thick, high-quality yardstick. You can tell a lot of love and intention went into designing and constructing these. •The adventures aren’t merely suggestions—each we’ve “revealed” has actually contained a QR code linking to the specific booking info/directions for each specific excursion. Very little work and research needs to be done once you decide on a place. •The categories are extensive and well-reasoned. Everything form cost, activity level, duration of time, and seasonal details are all accounted for at the bottom, before scratching. •A cute green “coin” is included, and scratching each card is incredibly satisfying. I’m shocked to find that we haven’t even. HEARD of a great deal of the places listed on the cards. Beyond this, the places we have been have provided adventures that we hadn’t known about, or thought to do (for example, we were delighted at discovering a cove in San Diego in which you could kayak, and then snorkel with tiger sharks). The 50 cards are categorized remarkably well, and the entire deck look gorgeous in its own right. I think our next fifty dates, over the next couple years, are accounted for. I’m ESPECIALLY excited for the areas of California we’re not even familiar with. If you’ve got a car, a date (even if it’s yourself), and a taste for life, this is for you. Trust me.

   These are adorable! They would make a great gift to someone on a road trip. I live in Cali, and the card I got for my city was actually something I have never done before which was a nice surprise. The cards are a nice size as well, bigger than your average deck of cards. They look great and even come with a scratching coin. A few of the cards came with some scratches already on there (as shown in my photo) but I can’t really complain. The quality was pretty great outside of this. Would these be worth 65 dollars? Hard to say. On one hand, I got to discover something I’d never done before in my own city. I imagine a lot of the other cards have interesting things that not everyone does. On the other, you could find most of this info online. Either way, I thought this was a super cute way to take some of the work out of planning for a trip and adding a bit of spontaneity to traveling. You get to do some things you wouldn’t normally, and it might encourage you to go to some new places, just to get to scratch of the card. I’d recommend these cards — I’ve had a fun time with them.

   These are supposed to be hidden gems and things you wouldn’t know about. So far everything I’ve opened has been the super obvious thing to do in the area. Feel so dumb for falling for the slick marketing and wasting my money.

   Quality of the cards is fantastic, easy to manage and pick a location, as well as understand the variety of activities and determine their level of expense and outdoorsy/relaxation type. Only complaint, there is a faint smell on these, likely from the scratch material. Smells like nickels but isn’t overwhelming.

   This CA set of cards has a set of scratch off cards that ‘reveal’ things about destinations throughout California – despite the ‘hidden gems’ description most of the gems are fairly obvious but for my elementary school aged kids, it’s a good conversation starter and when we are visiting it’s a nice thing to reveal and the QR codes provide a bit more information.

   These could be improved with some grammar/spelling and maybe some localised content.

   A “Bucket List” is supposed to be stuff that’s awesome, but there’s nothing really awesome here. These California cards are “okay” at best ~ nothing really included that is inspiring or great. You can go on the Internet and do a goggle search, and you’ll come up with better ideas (and save a chunk of change too!). At $64.99 (my price point), these cards are quite expensive for what you’ll get in return. I noticed that a number of the cards having some poor grammar and awkward wording, making me wonder who’s creating these cards, if the creators have been to California and visited the locations, or if the creators even live in the USA. On the whole, I wasn’t impressed with this set of bucket list cards.

    I got these for my spouse to give us fun travel ideas for the new year. It’s pricey for what it is but there’s something fun about the tactile aspect of the cards. The surprise/scratch-off part is unique, though a little messy. Overall, pricey but good quality item and a fun and unique travel planning activity.
