- It is the late 13th century and history is altered by the rise of the worldbreakers, individuals who harness the power of mythium to magnify their natural abilities. The Mongol princess Khutulun, a Worldbreaker and a descendent of the great Chinggis Khan, is reuniting the fractured hordes of the Mongol Empire. However, other factions are rising to oppose her, each with their own agenda. These include Marco Polo and his network of merchant-spies, the elusive Order of Assassins, and the utopic Muhandasat Council of Engineers. Who will seize control of mythium? Mechanics
- Worldbreakers is a two-player card game. You start with one of four worldbreakers and a deck of 30 cards: events, followers, and locations. The goal is to be the first to finish a round with 10 power, which is gained by developing location cards or attacking your opponent with followers. In addition, you will manage two resources: mythium, the game’s currency, and standing, which represents the access or trust of one of the Worldbreaker guilds. Worldbreakers incorporates several unique mechanics:
- Worldbreakers draws inspiration from Magic: the Gathering, Netrunner, and worker-placement games such as Agricola to create tense gameplay which revolves around resource management, sequencing, and timing. The rules are familiar, but the game brings entirely new interactions. It’s a whole new challenge for players, different from anything they experienced before.
- Worldbreakers is set in an alternate 13th century Mongolia, a unique setting in the gaming market. Flavor text and illustrations showcase this fascinating period, and we have done extensive historical research and worked with a team of advisers to make sure our representation is accurate and fair.
- Worldbreakers features people who are rarely represented in games. Most of our characters are people of color, and 70% of our illustrations highlight women in powerful and prominent roles. Some of our characters are people with disabilities, and others are LGBTQ+. The only thing our characters have in common is that they’re all awesome. FAIR DISTRIBUTION
- We want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy Worldbreakers. That’s why there are no booster packs and no premium cards. The game box will have all of the game’s cards, enough for two players to play all three available formats: Tutorial, Constructed, and Draft.

What a terrific game!
Fun to play, with smooth and clever mechanics. It also has a highly original setting – an alternative thirteen century Earth with fascinating characters.
I can see playing this game over and over again!

Card art is beautiful. Back and forth round structure cuts down on downtime. Solo mode AI is easy to run. If you like card games like Netrunner, LOTR LGC, or Ashes: Reborn, this is probably up your alley.

This game is so beautifully designed and fun to play, with gorgeous artwork and simple turn structure. I love the balance of the different guild strengths, and the thoughtful variety of the different cards. It took me a while to learn the way the cards function because I’m not super experienced with these types of two-player card games, but I promise it’s worth it, because once you get it down, you’ll have a game you can’t wait to play again and again to see how you can better improve your skills at this quick, challenging, fun game!

This is a fantastic 2-player card game that is remniscent of collectible card games, but is self-contained entirely within the base game box. With 4 pre-constructed decks, you can teach and play the game to beginners or veterans of CCGs in no time. The cards can also be mixed and matched to create your own custom decks all without having to spend thousands of dollars opening booster packs.
The theme is unique – what else tackles 13th century Mongolia? The turn order tracker is extremely clever and makes for very quick turns while also allowing for the occasional big play.
Overall, this is an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a good head-to-head game regardless of experience with the genre.
