Note - I bought this set as a collector of Final Fantasy products, not as a TCG player. I am going to review this set from the perspective of a collector. If you are looking for an opinion on the TCG I recommend reading a different review. I picked up this box along with a box of Opus I cards because I thought it would be interesting to collect Final Fantasy trading cards. I really enjoy the artwork and card stock of this set. I also really like the diversity of games that these cards come from - I found a good collection of cards from Final Fantasy IV, VIII, XII, and XIV. There are also a number of cards from spinoffs like X-2, Dissidia, and the VII spinoffs. I think this set has better diversity than Opus 1, which is heavily skewed towards FF III and Tactics. Bottom line - I like the cards I got out of this set and would recommend it to other Final Fantasy collectors.

I was initially upset and skeptical when seeing how damaged the box arrived. Luckily, I did not plan on keeping it unopened. The cards within were perfectly fine so no harm done.

I was a little worried at first because I ordered the eternatus version but the pack selection was great, two darkness ablaze, sun and moon base set, fates collide (!) and rebel clash. I pulled two full arts as well so very happy overall. Only reason not getting 5 star is because I got the wrong tin.

The listing clearly indicates the Theme Deck featuring Cinderace and not a random first partner theme deck. However we recieved the Inteleon Theme Deck instead. There is also an erroneous sku tag that marks this as a Cinderace deck on the back.

I first played this years ago when I was an assistant youth minister with the high school youth group, because they loved Apples to Apples so much and we discovered this gem. The teens loved it, but some cards were a bit above their comprehension. I then borrowed it for a dinner party with my parents and some friends from church, and I’ve never seen my mom laugh so hard! I finally bought them their own set for Christmas this year, and they’re so excited to play it with the family this week!

  • I kinda stopped playing Yugioh around GX time so I never got into 5D/Zexal/Arc-V. That said, I'm likewise not familiar with many of the cards from those series either. I mainly bought this collection for collector purposes. I'm not sure if my pulls were event decent since I don't follow the 5D cards I don't know what's considered good or bad or rare/hard to get. I may buy it again to try to get more of the cards in this set because the collector in me wants them all even though I don't really know how good they play. Also the price is really cheap. Only $20-25 as of the time I'm writing this review. All the cards are 1st edition too besides the promo cards which are LIMITED EDITION.

The color variations of the back of the cards are slightly different shades of blue between the expansion and original set. This makes it possible for dishonest judges to pay attention to whom played what reply card. The new set also has a cracked glass stencil on the front of the cards allowing for additional bias again as some judges seek to select a new expansion card over original played replies. This can be a problem if you have played often and have seen many of the games cards already as some judges seek to only pick new expansion card replies as the winner when played randomly in the shuffle. Pictures indicate color variance. I also included a few of the more risky (reply) cards. Played with a 12yr old and things went fine.

Everything is present and in good condition! A fun mix of things I remember from the old days as well as some more recent flair.

Just paid over 750 dollars to have kidzgeek.com middle man this and I was unaware of the issue. Thought I was getting a good deal and the rare uncommons tend to be valued higher than a majority of the alleged rare cards. Go figure you barely get uncommons in these boxes.. if you did there would be a better chance of breaking even. You pretty much pull a jeweled lotus or you just lost a few hundred dollars, even if you were to resell and break the entire box down. You’re going to lose support middle manning collectibles if you don’t have someone on top of things. This set is a few years old, and the issue isn’t new. Bad business as there is no warning that even if you pull the only valuable card, chances are it will score around a 7 and not be worth much. For someone who bought them just for monetary value this was an absolute flop — whether the last six packs reveal the lotus or not. Neon kamigawa collector boxes are the money. The common rares that pop are a bunch of lands like borderless boseju may have spelled that wrong) but they have some heavy hitters for reclaiming your investment and you do see them. I haven’t pulled the big money card but I’ve pulled a few of the 200 dollar wandering emperor :D check tcgplayer before you consider paying 200+ extra just to take a loss for prime delivery.. most of the time you are still going to take a loss at 550 bucks. And if you only need these cards to play the game grab a draft booster box. Paid 130 for the draft box. The jeweled lotus from the draft box is still worth the price of the draft box. And it likely won’t be damaged like the one you aren’t likely to get from this 750+ collector box. Definitely my biggest regret when it comes to a mtg investment. Secret lair is a better investment!

Cards were a little warped which I wasn't expecting for a product a few months old. But got a Misty expedition foil so there goes any doubts I had about the box being tampered with.

This arrived quickly and was in English. Didn't get the decks we were planning to recieve- got two of the same decks. The decks were unopened and in good shape.

I ordered a complete booster box for nearly $300 and received one pack what kind of joke is this?

Pack was covered with adhesive and was obviously resealed. I haven’t open it in hopes I can return it. No return policy.

I had held this product in my wish list for over a year, waiting on timing and then pricing as this was not a serious need for frequent use yet. Thinking about having a regular night with friends, for now though, teaching my kids and having fun. We all love these chips, they are beautiful as shown and have a great weight, feel, and sound to them—exactly as expected. Looking up close, you get an appreciation for the quality control whether they are molded or painted, either way it's impressive in the details and consistency. The only thing we didn't like is that the interior of the case is plastic molded which is okay, except due to the overall weight of the product, the light plastic took a beating during shipping. Carrying the case will reveal the quality of the chips inside—it's heavy. We were able to straighten the tray out and pull out the kinks for the most part. The outside of the case is beautiful and our kids joke about bringing the chips and case into a room with handcuffs on them. We haven't touched the included cards as I am picky about cards and prefer my own Bicycle brand. But as I looked at these for an honest, hard critique, they look almost indistinguishable from the Bicycle 808s with the notable exception being these cards have a slight gloss to the faces. I can't dock any stars as I got what I wanted, top-quality playing chips. The case while nice—being flawless wasn't on my list of needs for this price point. Most people looking up close even would barely notice the plastic molding.
